The backbone of our adventures is our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JL) in punk’n metallic orange, named “Lola.” The versatility and flexibility offered by a Jeep means it can adapt to any situation, and that is certainly true for us — equipped with a Maximus 3 Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform, upgraded lighting, a CB radio, upgraded fenders and more — Lola can take on whatever is thrown her way. When camping, we use the Jeep to tow our Airstream Basecamp, or to carry our CVT rooftop tent.
When towing the Basecamp isn’t possible or realistic, we’ll extend our range with a CVT Mt. Shasta Rooftop Tent. This tent folds away quickly onto our roof rack, affording us the flexibility to go anywhere, anytime. Perfect for those longer-range adventures where towing the trailer would be more cumbersome, the rooftop tent provides the perfect overland experience.
If comfort and amenities are the name of the game, we travel in our 2018 Airstream Basecamp. At 16ft long, this trailer is big enough to carry all of the essentials, but small enough to avoid the distractions from nature. The Basecamp facilitates camping in all seasons, and provides the comfort of knowing we always have a shower and toilet nearby. This is an adventurer’s trailer, and we’ve certainly modified it and equipped it to be one.
